We're so glad you want to join us for the new dates of our 2020 Spring Show! We could not be more grateful for the love and patience of our community, as we navigated the uncharted waters of postponing our event. This March marks the first time in 41 years that the Spring Show did not take place on it's intended dates and we were heartbroken--from our eager customers, to our hardworking team and all of the vendors who rely on our show for sales and to meet new customers for the year ahead. But, after some mourning, we are re-calibrating and planning for the brighter future we want to see! So, we've pinned our new June dates on the calendar and are excited to transform the Spring Show into something exciting and new! We know times are uncertain but together, with our community, we are investing in hope and looking forward to the day when we can unite our loyal customers with our community of makers once again!




WELCOME TO THE MARKETPLACE


This popular tabletop section is a great place for new exhibitors to get their start with One Of A Kind for a fraction of the cost. With your tabletop display space, you'll skip building a big booth so you can really focus on preparing for the show, and the close quarters of this section create a great sense of community onsite. PLUS, exhibitors can participate in the Marketplace for two years, so you'll have the option to grow at your own pace and you'll have a handful of second-time exhibitors on hand to help you navigate the show experience!

WHAT WE NEED

APPLICATION CRITERIA

  • You must be the designer AND heavily involved in the production of your work.
  • You Reside AND Produce Your Work in Canada or the United States
  • Your art or craft must be made in Canada or the United States
  • You must not currently be contracted with the One Of A Kind 2020 Spring Show

Beyond this, we are looking for work that is creative, innovative, cohesive, respectful of copyright law and other cultures, and avoids saturated trends. Your application will also be considered based on your table display, geographical representation and the overall balance of categories within the section. Please review the full One Of A Kind Acceptance Criteria to ensure our show is the right fit for you.


BEFORE YOU APPLY

In order to submit a complete application package, you will need to upload application support material--including product photos, a table display design, price list and description of your production process. Please review the full Application Checklist to ensure you have prepared everything you need to submit online. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

All One Of A Kind exhibitors will receive a complimentary year-long membership to the One Of A Kind Online Shop, so that we can connect your brand with customers and marketing and PR opportunities year-round! STEP 5: BOOTH OPTIONS

A standard Marketplace space will include a 4' x 2.5' table and tablecloth, plus a bit of space to store product underneath. Due to the circular set-up of the section, there are also 6 larger corner spots available (see measurements below). Please indicate below whether you would like to be considered for a corner space or just a regular space.

  • Corner tables are larger, with a curved outer edge of 7'5", and are therefore an additional $35.
  • As there are only six corner spaces within the section, applying for a corner does not guarantee you will receive one.

Will You Be Selling Prints?

Artists wishing to sell reproductions must submit images of their prints/reproductions, in their finished and packaged forms, within their application photos. Prints should also be listed in the "What You Would Like to Sell at the Show" portion of the application.

Photographers must submit a statement telling us how and where your work is printed. Prints should be signed and dated. Open editions are acceptable.

Please include above your statement indicating whether you (the photographer) have printed your own work, or if the samples are printed by a lab (Please provide lab name, if applicable). In this area, please also provide an overview of your chosen printing method, the lifespan of each photo and why you have chosen to use that particular process/data source.

Tells us about yourself, what inspires you and if you've had any education/training or participated in any other shows we might know. Share your brand story, business goals and what you want to get out of the show. Max. 500 Characters.
Walk us through your production process for each item you wish to sell at the show--tell us how you design, where production takes place, how you are involved and when you are getting help. This information will not be shared with anyone outside of the jury.
This will help the jury get an idea of your pricing and how it compares in the marketplace. Your price list should include each type of item you want to sell at the show.

In your zip folder, please include the following:

  • PRODUCT IMAGES: 10 product images in JPEG format. These images should represent the range of work you would like to sell at the show.
  • STUDIO IMAGES: 3 studio images in JPEG format. These images should give the jury a sense of your workspace.
  • BOOTH DISPLAY: A detailed drawing, sketch or photo of your proposed booth display in either a JPEG or PDF format. In your drawing, you should think about the structure of your booth (will you have hard walls, or will you have drape coverings). You should also illustrate your plans for lighting, flooring, signage, and furnishings (display units, shelves, etc).

A detailed drawing, sketch or digital photo of your proposed table display. Your table will be a 4' x 2.5' space. You should also illustrate your plans for display units, shelves, how your products will be merchandised, etc.
